With a small step back towards the rawer sound and production of their earlier releases Kronofogden delivers 14 new tracks of raging hardcore punk – pissed off, right on point and excellent!
Musically they manage the legacy of classic Hudik hardcore well and combine it with a slab of 80’s US hardcore and good old-fashioned anger and frustration.
Speaking of classic Hudik hardcore, they’re not only influenced by it, they also pay tribute to it – featuring a couple of guests you might have heard from before.
Comes with with a full-sized, 16-paged, comic book as well as a 4-paged insert with lyrics, art and photos.

On this, their first full LP, they deliver 14 tracks of raging hardcore punk. Pissed off, right on point and excellent!

Maximum Rocknroll #363:
Screaming käng with an atypical empasis on the low end. Guitars are excruciating, riffs are as textbook as anything this side of SVART SNÖ (and arguable that good at times) and the vocals are nearly constant and visceral. These Swedes dish out power instead of distortion, and though I can’t understand why I’m hearing a violin in the final track, the sounds leave me hungry for more. (WN)
Swedish site Lukinzine reviews the Kronofogden – Käftarna Maler 7″
Att höja några som kallar sig för Kronofogden till skyarna kan i fel kontext få människor att rysa längs hela ryggraden, för vem fan gillar fogden egentligen? I sammanhanget punkmusik från Hudiksvall så framkallar det däremot istället rysningar av välbehag och knutna kängnävar i luften. På den nya given, Käftarna Maler, låter nämligen det unga bandet bättre än någonsin, och trots att det är lite renare än tidigare så finns varje uns av aggression, frustration och smuts ändå kvar.
Kronofogden har skapat en solid EP fylld av amerikansk 80-tals hardcore som understryks av svensk råpunk, vilket med de finurliga texterna flyter ihop till något som både sticker ut nacken och lämnar en schysst eftersmak. B-sidan är helt klart starkast där den avslutande låten, Det finns inte mer, målar upp en bild av hur urbaniseringen breder ut sig och utan pardon sopar mattan med landsbygden. Fyra spår är inte speciellt mycket, och särskilt inte när attacken är över på några ynka minuter. Kvalitén på låtarna är däremot så pass bra att det egentligen inte spelar någon roll hur många gånger man låter nålen treva runt i vinylspåren, för man tröttnar aldrig. Fogden kommer, och för en gångs skull är jag peppad och öppnar dörren direkt.
